Simon Lea is a british session, touring drummer and percussionist.
A versatile musician covering a wide range of genres including funk & soul, pop, rock, hip hop and jazz.
In 2017 he joined the Temperance Movement, touring worldwide and recording the album ‘A Deeper Cut’ reaching number 1 in the UK Rock, Indie and Vinyl Chart and number 6 in the UK Album Charts 2018.
In 2016 Simon was asked to perform in Lazarus, the musical written by David Bowie for a 3 month exclusive run in Kings Cross, London.
Touring credits include Katie Melua, James Blunt, Seth Lakeman, Boy George, Rumer and Benjamin Francis Leftwich.
In 2012 Simon played on John Newman's platinum selling album 'Tribute' and Rizzlekick's gold selling album 'Roaring 20's'.
In 2007 he began touring the UK, Europe & US with hip hop/pop artist Just Jack as drummer and musical director.
In 2006 he became house drummer at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club in soho, playing 6 nights a week opposite some of the worlds finest jazz musicians.
In the late 1990’s he moved to London and started playing in London clubs with rising jazz star Finn Peters, the firmly established tenor saxophonist Dave o’Higgins and trumpet star Guy Barker.
Studied music at Brunel University, later attending the Guildhall School Of Music and Drama studying Jazz and Studio Music.
